New Orleans Nites - Soggy Po' Boys

3rd show of our New Orleans Nites Series!

Celebrating the music and festivities of Mardi Gras this February!

Be a sponsor! Save 20%! Get a Swag Bag!

The final event in our series is the Soggy Po' Boys, New England natives who have become a regional institution, spreading the good news of New Orleans music across the northeast and beyond.

“These guys have done their homework, worked it out on the bandstand and put in the hours in the studio. It all adds up to a party you can bring with you when you want to treat your friends to a real good time.” -Ben Schenck of New Orleans’ Panorama Jazz Band

"Although New Hampshire isn’t the most obvious home for a group so devoted to the culture of the Big Easy, the Soggy Po’ Boys seem genuine in their ambition to spread the word about jazz New Orleans style, and they’re creating an accessible and fun way into this world." -London Jazz News

Enough said! Come dance!

Both Sides Now - The Music and Lives of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen

A theatrical concert that explores the music and lives of long-time friends and one-time lovers, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen

The cabaret-style performance travels decades alongside songs like “A Case of You,” “Hallelujah,” “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Suzanne,” and many more. Both Sides Now is at once a piece of the 60’s and 70’s, and of right now – offering us a story about the messiness of being human, of lives persistently lived at the edge of growth, and of finding the courage to turn toward one another, again and again.

Enter the Haggis with opener Hildaland

ST. PADDY'S WEEK SHOW!

For over two decades, Toronto’s Enter The Haggis has combined bagpipes and fiddles with a rock rhythm section to create a distinctively eclectic sound.  Their songs offer singalong melodies and deep, meaningful lyrics which tell the stories of everyday hard-working people.  Signature songs like “One Last Drink”, “Gasoline”, “Down With The Ship” and “Lancaster Gate” have been streamed millions of times, have appeared in Hollywood movies, and have been performed and recorded by artists around the world.

Their show is exciting and dynamic, featuring unpredictable and spontaneous moments. One song might feature Brian Buchanan and Rose Baldino trading fiery fiddle lines, while the next highlights Craig Downie taking a trumpet solo or ripping through a bagpipe reel. During an encore, the band might leave the stage to perform acoustically standing on chairs in the audience.

Enter The Haggis has appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" and "A&E’s Breakfast With The Arts", and was the feature of an hour-long PBS concert special which aired for months on more than eighty affiliate stations across the US.

more info : enterthehaggis.com

Opening for Enter the Haggis are their buddies, Hildaland.  Orkney (Scotland) born fiddler Louise Bichan and Indiana (USA) mandolinist Ethan Setiawan present a collaboration and meeting of  musical worlds. Following the fiddle traditions of two sides of the Atlantic, their journey winds through Scottish, oldtime, and Swedish-inspired music intertwined with contemporary compositions. Bichan’s fiddle is a melodic foil to Setiawan’s counterpoint and harmonic depth, and the two blend seamlessly.

Sponsor a Seat at The Majestic!

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST

“Take a seat” at the Majestic!

The doors of the fully renovated Majestic Theatre are open! Although we have a functional stage, we need additional equipment and furnishings to bring the Majestic to its full potential.  Sponsorship of the seats is a wonderful way for YOU to participate in this effort! It's also a good way to be part of the Majestic in perpetuity, or to honor a friend or loved one.

How it works...

On the following screens, you can choose various ways to "sponsor a seat" (or several!)  All seat sponsorships are in perpetuity and come with the option to add a plaque to the seat bearing a name or dedication.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to make this process work conveniently online, we’ve set up seat selection and sponsorship payment in our ticketing software – that means, it’ll look just as if you’re purchasing tickets to an event on December 31, 2021 (an arbitrary date).

There are three levels of sponsorship in this campaign:

$250 – Choose from seats shown in blue

$500 – Choose from seats shown in orange

$1000 – Choose from seats shown in gold

Click "Get Tickets" to get started

If you are interested in making a major gift to this campaign, please contact MTMC Executive Director George Wiese at 603-447-4737 ext. 304. Donors contributing at the $5000 and above level may choose naming options for any two available seats in the theatre, regardless of section.

Jack Broadbent with opener Seth Gallant - Jan 11th 2025

THIS EVENT IS OVER

Jack Broadbent is no ordinary singer-songwriter. He can break your heart, then turn around and set the world on fire. Combining elements of blues, folk, rock n' roll, and jazz, Broadbent owns a true artistry that sets him apart from the rest.

He was first known for his unique and explosive slide guitar playing. This notoriety was quickly solidified by his superb songwriting. Broadbent went from busking the streets of Europe to smashing appearances on the world stage alongside some of the biggest names in rock n' roll.  He has played with and opened for the likes of Peter Frampton, Ronny Wood, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sheryl Crow, Little Feat, Robert Cray, Richard Thompson, and more.  Don't miss this intimate, gritty, story-telling event that is sure to set your soul aflame.

more info : https://www.jackbroadbent.co.uk/

Opening for Jack Broadbent as the representative of our luscious local music scene is Seth Gallant.  Seth has appeared at the Majestic a number of times, and most recently helped the Majestic raise money for Hurricane Relief with a solo set that brought the house down.  He is another true blue down-home songwriter - think Bruce Springsteen alone on stage with his guitar. Come support this hometown musician, as we venture into pairing local artists with national and global acts.
